“Change is the new normal. Rather than thinking of work as a series of stable times interrupted by moments of change, companies must recognize work as constant change, with moments of stability.” Seth Godin
Statement such as “If I can just get through this rough spot” or “I see a light at the end of the tunnel” or “If I can just make it to the end of the week” are all made in response to constant change that people are experiencing. The problem is that leaders are not helping their organizations understand that constant change is the norm and adjustments to how work is done must be made. Too many leaders think of change as a beginning, middle and end over a fixed period of time. The reality is that change is constant and only going to become more dynamic. The best leaders understand this new reality and help their organizations adjust to the new reality of working in constant change.
