In the current war for talent, loyalty is losing. Staff members who are highly loyal to their organization are losing out. New hires receive higher wages and perks than existing staff because of the competitive environment (someone else will hire them for more money etc..) Leaders value staff who are loyal, yet they are often taken for granted. Staff who want to work in the organization who are engaged and loyal to the organization are easy to neglect. “They're always here” could be the words that mean they soon won’t be. Leaders need to not overlook existing staff as they work to fill open positions in a competitive marketplace.
Are existing staff losing out by being loyal in the war for talent?
